Follow my progress on the Central London CTC Website
My trip starts in Newark. Arriving on the 16th May to spend a couple of nights in Parlin, New Jersey. I am being hosted by a generous www.warmshowers.com member. Eric is not only going to host my accomodation with his family he is also going to pick me up from the airport and ride some of my first day, what a star. I aim to set off down the East Coast from Parlin on the 18th of May, giving me time to put my bike togethe and get a little over the jet lag.
My plan is to take about a week to cycle down to Yorktown Virginia, before turning west to start the Transamerica route across the states.
The aim is to cycle approximately 60 miles per day with occasional rest days (as and when needed). Accommodation will predominantly be a tent requiring everything to be carried on my bike. The trip will take in the states of New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri , Kansas, Colorado Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and Oregon.
The plan is to set off from New Jersey on the 18th May and arrive in Seattle mid August.
