Woke up feeling a little unwell, suspect the altitude had got to me a little. Drank lots of water(apparently the best remedy) and took it easy for a few hours. Eventually felt well enough to make a move out of FairPlay for the last big push up to the summit of Hossier Pass about another 1700 feet climb, most of it over 4 miles. Summit is just over 11500 ft and is the marker for the great continental divide between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.
Not an easy climb, but achieved and gratefully followed by a 10 mile downhill into Breckenridge. A ski/ hiking resort full of tourists, quite a shock to us after so many weeks in the middle of nowhere with definitely no tourists. Decided to push on a little further to Frisco to find a camping spot, which included an invite for pizza from Dani and Simon. Gratefully accepted the pizza and enjoyed a pleasant evening of conversation. Beautiful mountain scenery surrounds us, some of the mountains even have snow son the tops, which seems so strange after the temperatures we have been in. We are now back down to about 8000 feet, so hopefully no reoccurrence of nasty symptoms. Photos of our achievement at the highest point on our route. Dani and Simon and the beautiful scenary.
