Day 48

By far the hardest day. We set off from Canon City at about 7.30 this morning and climbed into the Rockies for 79 miles. I am not sure if my butt will ever recover.
Arrived at FairPlay late 7.30pm, just as a storm arrived, that put paid to camping. Eventually found a very nice hotel who rustled up soup and sandwiches and a couple of beers. Feel slightly better than on arrival. Also greatly relieved that they don't serve breakfast till 8am.
Total mileage 79.27, elevation reached 9966ft, total ascent today 6690ft.

    No signs of altitude sickness I hope?

      Yes a little unwell, but recovered now lower down. The mountains are just spectacular!
