Met up with Marco and Jack, two Dutchmen that I had previously had email contact with about the trip. They are roughly on the same schedule so may see them again along the way.
We will leave Kansas tomorrow or the day after depending on distance we decide to do. We have been thinking about July the 4th, and whether to take some time off in Pueblo, a city in Colorado.
We are gradually climbing, now at just over 3000 ft, almost as high as we were in the blue ridge mountains. The difference being that now we are travelling across vast prairie plains. Our route will take us to 11000 feet in the rockies. We have been told this will feel quite strange to be at that altitude. However our relatively slow ascent should prevent us having too many problems.
