Day 41

65 miles today from Larned to Ness City. A little cooler, as predicted, quite a relief.
Camping in town park adjacent to open air pool, allowing for a very nice post ride dip.
Enjoying the Kansas countryside, very wide open spaces, you can see for miles.
There is a continuous steady incline on the route, which will carry on toward Colorado and the Rockies where more obvious climbing will start.
We have been leapfrogging a group of young Americans over the last few days and tonight they are sharing our camping space, nice to share experiences about the trip.

  1. Hello Sally,

If was nice to run into you and Martin today. I met the Hadlebarbarians ten miles later. I'm relaxing in Larned now. Have a good night.

  2. Interesting that you are enjoying the ride through the Kansas landscape. I would have thought it might be a bit tedious after the first day. I remember an American friend saying that driving through Kanasa in a car one tended to run out of things to say other than "oh look, another grain silo". A good case for why cycling is superior perhaps!
    Cheers, Gail.
