Day 22

We cycled from Borea to Danville, with every intention of attending a music festival of brass bands
(not really my cup of tea ), but as always up for the experience. Unfortunately the weather was against us, a storm started, resulting in a need to shelter in a church for about an hour. We moved on in the rain to stay in a motel and just doss about for the afternoon. The rest probably did us good, lots of rubbish TV in a motel room, Oh what fun.

  1. When I met up with the cycle club in Bartlesville in Oklahoma and they told me they didn't go out if it was raining, I thought they were wimps. And then I experienced my first Oklahoma thunderstorm...

Sally I'm greatly enjoying following your trip across the USA and in doing so re-living what was a very happy two years of my life! Although I don't think I ever went to Kentucky. Met any 'junkyard dogs' yet?

    Cheers,
    Gail.

    1. We are beginning to think the mad dogs of Kentucky that we were led to believe we would encounter is an urban myth. But who knows we are not out of the state yet!!

  2. Hello Sally,

It sounds that the alternatives to brass bands and churches are not that great ... so I hope you are feeling ok and getting on with things. At least your Ortleibs will keep your stuff dry unlike my bags and myself in Cornwall!

    Best wishes

  3. Is it me or are you carrying a lot more stuff than the men you are with?

So pleased everything is working out for you there. We' ve had our little trip to Holland this wkend which was very picturesque. Quite docile terrain. Would rather have a few lumps myself. I leave on July 1st. Two more work weeks, yeah!
